The fishery.....

The two plus acre lake is stocked with young fish with plenty of growth potential.  To date we have Carp to 19lbs 2oz and should see a 20 plus in 2011.  The average is a rod bending 7 - 9lbs.

There are also Roach and Rudd up to 1lb 8oz, Golden Rudd up to 1lb (the best looking fish I've seen), Bream up to 2lbs 10oz, Perch up to 1lb and small Tench

Since the lake has been open (Aug 2007) bags of 80lb to 100lb have been common, with some regulars substantially exceeding this.

With depths ranging from 3ft to 8ft both winter and summer fishing are excellent.

We ban very little here at Llyn Blodyn. No keep nets, no barbed hooks, minimum 6lb line, no unelasticated whips, a suitable size landing net each (say 18 inch small mesh), each angler (not shared) must have a well padded unhooking mat, no artificial baits.  In photographs the angler holding the fish must be in a kneeling position.  All these things will help keep the fish in the pristine condition they are now.

All anglers must hold a current E.A. rod licence.  Full day and afternoon only tickets are available, overnight fishing by prior arrangement, two rod limit or one pole, open dawn till dusk.

Llyn Blodyn is a day ticket water (pay on bank).  Set within a small wooded valley and only a few hundred metres from a beautiful sandy award winning beach, with its own cafe selling hot and cold food and drinks, toilets and a seating area.  So whether you are on your own, with friends or family, Llyn Blodyn and its close surroundings has so much to offer.
